Tao Te Ching: online book / 2011

The Tao Te Ching is a Chinese classic text recommended by one of my favorite artists. I bought a copy and really enjoyed it. Wanting more people to be able to read it, I decided to create an online version with good typography to make it easy to read and appreciate.

Working on this web book was a great typographic exercise — I had to pay close attention to details, like formatting footnotes and handling text additions enclosed in square brackets.

Although the Tao Te Ching is not a long book, I wanted to make it easy for readers to pick up where they left off. To do this, I added a feature that remembers the scroll position, even after the browser is closed, so readers can return to the same chapter effortlessly.
