Med Help Dnipro / 2022

A logo created quickly for a friend, later worn by Eric Schmidt, former CEO of Google.

I rarely create logos and don’t accept commercial offers for branding design. However, I couldn’t turn down a request from my good friend, Alex Buchkov, to design a logo for Med Help Dnipro, a volunteer initiative he co-founded.

Med Help Dnipro has been supporting Ukrainian doctors and soldiers by providing medical equipment and electronic warfare protection since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. The organization has carried out critical projects that have saved countless lives.

The logo was designed in about 15 minutes at Alex’s kitchen table, with only a couple of minor adjustments made later.

When I was designing that logo, little did I know that Eric Schmidt, former CEO of Google, would one day wear a pin featuring it. But that’s exactly what happened:

The logo is also featured on stickers placed on many boxes sent to the frontline and to hospitals in the rear, clearly identifying the organization behind the support.
